OceanArt Pewter

OceanArt Pewter was founded in 1989 by May Ocean in the basement of her rented home. Skills as an accomplished designer in bas relief helped May support her young family.  Her first craft show offered 11 of the Twelve Days of Christmas pewter ornaments with the promise to deliver the 12th at a later date - she delivered that and much more.

In 1990 May purchased a two story home with an apartment upstairs - her young family grew up, and so did OceanArt Pewter.  A year later OceanArt Pewter had two full time and two part time employees. In 1994 an expansion was completed - doubling the size of the building and the staff continued to grow.  The entire building is now used for design, original finish, mould making and production.

Many tourists en route to Peggy's Cove stop at OceanArt Pewter to purchase their souvenirs and gifts to take home.  The OceanArt team can often be seen proudly  giving tourists a tour of the property - it's the Maritime way!  Additional store locations can  be found on Cornwallis Street in Kentville and in the Bedford Mall.

Today OceanArt Pewter continues to grow.
